Please see details below LHANDs class is certified by CHAPA's Massachusetts Homeownership Collaborative, so graduates may be eligible for down payment assistance programs from their city or town or for the One Mortgage or other mortgage designed for first time home buyers. The class fee is $50 per person or $75 per couple. Couples purchasing a home together are both encouraged to attend, although (unless your mortgage lender tells you otherwise) only one person may be required to complete the course. Mass Housing Programs require that at least one borrower purchasing a home has a pre-purchase certificate. Mortgage Programs require that all borrowers complete a pre-purchase course and receive certificates.
