When police are bad, they are really bad. Most police are just average Joes, marching toward a pension. Like privates in the military, they follow orders and do as they are told. They hold exceptionally stressful, often impossible jobs. A few police officers are exceptional. I predict in a decade, it will be nearly impossible to find a Caucasian street level police officer in major metropolitan areas. I believe within two years it will be the unofficial policy of police in major cities not to pursue fleeing suspects no matter what the crime, to be even slower than they are now in response to violent calls, and probably just ignore most calls of property theft or assault. If a suspect resists, I believe officers will just allow them to get away. How they will justify their paychecks would have to be low profile, low public exposure criminal enforcement i.e. speed traps, prostitution, public intoxication, and the like (so called nuisance crimes.) In the end of course it will be the good people of the land who work hard, and try to the best of their ability to harm no one who will pay the highest price. We will be expected to police our own existence, in a period of increased criminal behavior thanks to police officers who do not wish to get their hands dirty, yet be constrained legally how far we can go to keep ourselves safe. When I was a teenager, a person of any race who was crazy enough to resist arrest could assume he might get shot. If that happened, even his own family would have called him a "damn fool!" I think it a very good time to be an old man. God bless America.
