Lead Groundskeeper Where: Ridley Park, Pennsylvania Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt Wage: DOE Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) and a robust wellness program Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift, may require work off shift or weekends TO APPLY: visit www.skookum.org Skookum is seeking an experienced Lead Groundskeeper Janitor with a positive attitude. This individual is responsible for ensuring that grounds are clean, safe, and attractive at all times. Typical duties include but are not limited to: • Performs mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, aeration and fertilization; weed and brush control; flower bed services; tree and shrub pruning; erosion control; debris, drain and ditch cleanup. • Maintains all grounds and road shoulders in specified areas. • Cleans and maintains tools and equipment. • Conducts training to employees. • Responsible for various reports- i.e., schedules, correct time keeping, accident reports. • Follows and adheres to all safety provisions as stated in the employee handbook, training, and Skookum leadership. • Maintains professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Qualifications: • Eight (8) years of experience in Grounds Maintenance or related field preferred. • Must be able to operate tractor and commercial grade riding mowers and/or other equipment as necessary. • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions. • Reading and understanding contract requirements and maps. • Demonstrate ability to multi-task throughout work day, with constant interruptions. Physical Demands: • Positions duties require working outside in the weather. Conditions may include rain, cold and/or heat. • Work site locations can include steep inclines, such as slopes, hills, and uneven ground surfaces. Requirements: • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position. • A valid State Driver’s license is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance company.
