Need Lawn Mowing Crew - Small Family-Owned Service

Jobs

Colorado Springs CO

Description

We’re a very small family-owned lawn service looking for about 2 individuals to help Mow Residential Lawns through October. Training is provided so it’s ok if you’re not familiar with lawn care as long as you’re capable. We have a great base crew and customers that have been around a long time so we are looking for people that can fit in with our team. We really enjoy taking care of our customer's grass and have a pretty relaxed, easy-going environment. We still have a couple weeks left for Spring Season on more difficult projects like Leaf Clean Ups, Power Raking, and Aeration, but Mowing Season is right around the corner. We work individually and are responsible for our own trucks, equipment and routes, but with communication throughout the day it’s a team effort to get all the jobs done on a daily basis. Warmer weather job hours are Mon-Thurs from 6:30 am until all scheduled jobs are complete, some days by 3:30 pm others by 6:30 pm, it depends on customer load and weather. Our ultimate goal is to be done by Thurs to have a 3 day weekend. Our workload really depends on weather. We keep Friday and Saturday open in case we can’t finish by Thurs (bad weather). Living in Colorado and constant weather change, the only way we can make an inconsistent weather-based business more consistent is by having accountable, reliable, and flexible people. When interviewed, we are not looking for lawn care experience because this job is not just about mowing lawns. This is a very detail oriented, physically demanding position that requires someone to be alert and aware of their surroundings at all times. For example, driving a truck and a loaded trailer all day with many different traffic conditions, keeping a routine of making sure all equipment is properly secure, navigating to get the correct location safely, navigating Colorado terrain when on properties, understanding every lawn and customer is different, and following detailed notes/instruction with each individual lawn. Interviews are done outside in the environment we work in to get a visual of our organization, trucks, equipment, and process. We’re looking for signals of patience, teamwork, communication, ability to follow instruction, and being detail oriented on the job. We are looking for proper equipment handling and people who can listen, train, and take care of our investments. We’re ready to hire anyone who can conform to the way we perform lawn care and who allow us to train them in the way that we work. We’re looking for quality help because if hired you’ll be solely responsible for taking care of our long-time customers, friends, family members, and brand new customers that trust us to do everything possible to take care of their property with little to no supervision. After training we’ll discuss pay on an individual basis, most guys make $16 - $18 per hour, based on things like a clean driving record, being knowledgeable of driving with small to medium utility trailers, and feeling like we’ve found someone trustworthy to handle our trucks and equipment. We understand this is a seasonal job, and most people are looking for something year-round, but also please understand we would like to see someone here through the end of the season and not just a couple weeks. Customers like seeing familiar faces to hand soda and tips to and frankly so do we. Our website if you want to check us out is www.intermountainlawns.com Please do NOT call our office number. This line is dedicated to customers only. Our office manager will only direct you back to replying by email and if interested we'll call you back. Please send us an email with at least a few sentences about who you are and why you may want this job and a resume if you have one. Anyone who sends a resume only will not be considered. We’re serious about hiring someone to pay more than minimum wage to mow grass and it’s nice to read about how serious someone might be to work with us and determine how well they might fit in with our team. It also helps us see how good you are at communication because a lot of our communication throughout the day between crews is done through text. We will check Email and respond to you with the location and times for interview. Thank you so much for considering us and we're looking forward to the help! Details/Requirements: *This is a W-2 Position, 2 forms of ID required with Social Security # * Weekly Pay – Direct Deposit Available *A good driver record and obviously a driver’s license is required. *Upon hire we will complete a background check *No Smoking in vehicles or near customer property *In the Spring, lot’s of raking and bending over to bag up debris. *Operating Ryan Aeration machines when aerating lawns (Spring and Fall) *Operating residential size walk behind mowers (no riding mowers), trimmers, and blowers on standard size residential homes. *Bagging and lifting all lawn clippings into a truck or trailer and hauling away. *Be in good enough physical shape to be on your feet and walking most of the day. *Attention to detail is a must, A good looking lawn is all in the details
