We currently have an opportunity available for Cut Order Operators in Cypress, CA. Position Overview: To move carpet rolls onto cut table in such a manner as to make accurate and precise cuts. Essential Functions: Responsible for moving carpet rolls from the staging area to the dump bucket by operations of the control panel buttons. Responsible for operations of the elevator by operation of the control panel buttons. Responsible for removing ticket from roll, scanning barcodes, and /or keying in order number as necessary. Responsible for cutting and removing tape from rolls and operating the unroll heads through manipulation of the control panel buttons. Must remove core and place in buggy which involves bending and stretching to pickup 5lbs. core and toss it into the designated buggy. Responsible for measuring rolls, operating cutting knife, and operating the roll-up heads through manipulation of the control panel buttons. Must measure all balances which are under 20’. Must print and fasten ticket to measure balances which includes operation of the ticket print machine and removal of the ticket from the machine. Must handle scrap. Other duties as assigned by management. Physical Requirements: Ensure that the carpet is cut and measured accurately. Housekeeping requires keeping work area free from waste and safety hazards. Ensure that correct labels are on correct rolls. Use neat legible handwriting. Always look for defects in carpet. When cutting out defective carpet, remove the minimum amount necessary. Must be able to operate buttons on control panel. Must be able to extend arms overhead to reach core bins and plastic film. Must be able to stand and walk continuously and walk frequently for duration of shift. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
