Custodian Needed - PART TIME We are looking for a responsible, local (Essex County), dependable part-time custodian to maintain our facilities Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. You will be working with wonderful, dedicated people who care about this organization and those we serve. Hours (subject to change) will primarily be 4pm-8pm on Fridays; and Saturdays 8:30am-12:30pm. (8 hours total guaranteed.) When activities are expanded in the facility, there may be additional hours available. More hours may be available during busy event seasons and some fill in during the week. Responsibilities (not limited to the following) · Understands the importance of cleanliness in a child care setting (we operate a small, active pre-school) · Maintain building spaces throughout the morning · Ensure general spaces (and classrooms) are clean prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting and disinfecting surfaces · Ensure proper room set-ups for the following day · Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets · Removal of trash from offices, classrooms and kitchens · Maintain bathrooms and restock disposables (e.g. soap and paper goods) · Advise when supplies need to be ordered · Report damages Requirements · Prior experience as custodian or janitor is a big plus · MUST submit to all necessary background checks – no exceptions · Have dependable transportation to be on time · Warm and friendly disposition · Handyman (not a requirement, but will get you to the head of the pack) · Attention to detail and takes direction well · Able to lift/carry about 40 lbs or more without assistance · Must be fluent in English – speaking and writing · No sponsorships available
