Art, Food & Fun in conjunction with Asian Heritage Month
In the response to the hate crimes and discrimination towards Asians in communities across the United States, we aim to strengthen our neighborhoods and community through the appreciation of racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity to encourage an inclusive and peaceful society.
Women of Toledo, with the support of the HerHub team and members, will be presenting an IN-PERSON event, ‘Art, Food & Fun’: A showcase of various local Asian women-owned businesses and restaurants in celebration of Asian Heritage Month (AHM). Open to all, this AHM event will offer family-friendly activities including:
• Chinese calligraphy
• The Japanese art of paper folding - origami
• Henna artists
• Karaoke
• Martial art demo more
Partnering with the University of Toledo’s Center for International Studies and Programs, the American Language Institute, the Confucius Institute, and various local Asian organizations, we will raise awareness of the vital role that Asian Americans have played in building a strong and successful community and nation.
