Walk the Maglev Path and Stories of the Woods Hike: learn about the proposed path of the train and history of the forest.
These walks are being held in honor of Bill Duncan and all those we have lost to the pandemic.
Walk the Maglev Path and Stories of the Woods Hike for those who would like to learn about the proposed path of the train and what we could lose. This walk will be guided by Paul Downs and Susan Barnett and will guide participants through the forest preserve that could be destroyed by the proposed SCMaglev train. In addition, you will learn a bit of the history and stories of the forest. Limited group size- registration is required. Dress for mud, ticks, and bring a water bottle. Hike is considered moderately strenuous with some logs to go over and some slippery areas. Covid precautions apply – wear masks, physical distancing.
Park in front of the GHI administration building. Walk down the gravel road past gardens to the Hamilton Cemetery. Walk starts at 11am - arriving early is recommended.
