Forest Bathing Walk in Greenbelt Forest Preserve - experience the gifts of the forest preserve!
These walks are being held to honor Bill Duncan and all those we have lost to the pandemic.
From 2 to 4 pm, join us for a Forest Bathing Walk guided by two trained guides, Ana Ka'ahanui and Josh Schwartz. They will lead a slow-paced walk through the forest designed to promote health and well-being by getting you out of your overworked head and into a relaxed, mindful state where you can connect to the natural world through your senses. This practice has been shown to have a variety of health benefits such as boosting immunity, reducing stress, anxiety and depression, as well as fostering creativity, focus and empathy. The walk will involve various invitations to go deeper into the sensory experience of the forest and will end with enjoying tea together.
Josh Schwartz is an Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) trained guide and founder of A Greener Mind. Ana Ka'ahanui is also a trained ANFT guide as well as a co-founder and director of the Captial Nature’s Experiential Programs.
The program is for those 16 and older. Limited group size- registration is required. To participate register here or contact Susan at [email protected] or 443 388 2961. Dress for mud, ticks, and bring a water bottle. Hike is considered moderately strenuous with some logs to go over and some slippery areas. Covid precautions apply – please wear masks and practice physical distancing.
