Description
WESTFORD, MA — Get ready for some traffic. On Monday, April 26 a three-year road construction project will begin along Oak Hill Road, Plain Road and Moore Road.
The first phase — originally planned for last summer, but delayed because of the pandemic — is scheduled to span the length of Oak Hill Rd from Betty Lane to Plain Road in an effort to replace the Culvert under Oak Hill Road, near Betty Lane. Construction to that end is expected to last into the fall.
Watch for construction signs and detail officers in the area diverting traffic. And get used to them. Both will become a regular sight though the duration of the multi-year project.
"The town and police department have been working closely with the contractor to minimize inconvenience for everybody," police said in a statement.
The police department said it plans to update its Facebook page on a regular basis as to detours and other construction related matters.
Residents can also receive regular updates by subscribing to the town's notification system under 'Road Construction" at https://www.westfordma.gov/list.aspx
All businesses within the construction zone will stay open during construction and town officials are asking that you continue to frequent these local businesses.
