TEWKSBURY, MA — Nearly half of the town's residents have received at least one coronavirus vaccination shot, a major milestone in the local fight against the virus. Thirty percent of Tewksbury residents have been fully vaccinated and 48 percent have been at least partially vaccinated as of Thursday's numbers from the Department of Public Health. That means 14,739 residents have received either one Moderna or Pfizer dose or the single-shot Johnson & Johnson dose (the latter of which is currently under a pause.) In Tewksbury, Black residents lead the way with over half (52 percent) fully vaccinated, versus 39 percent of multi-racial residents, 28 percent of white residents, 24 percent of Asian residents and 21 percent of Hispanic residents.
