More Than Half Of Stoneham Has Received At Least 1 Vaccine Shot

STONEHAM, MA — More than half of the town's residents have received at least one coronavirus vaccination shot, a major milestone in the local fight against the virus. Thirty-three percent of Stoneham residents have been fully vaccinated and 52 percent have been at least partially vaccinated as of Thursday's numbers from the Department of Public Health. That means 11,598 residents have received either one Moderna or Pfizer dose or the single-shot Johnson & Johnson dose (the latter of which is currently under a pause.) More than 85 percent of everyone over the age of 64 here has received at least one shot. The town's two-week coronavirus stats saw some improvement. The average daily incidence fell from 31.4 to 25.3, the positivity rate decreased from 3.35 to 2.86 and the two-week total case count went from 98 to 79.
