CAMBRIDGE, MA — A Davis Square home suffered severe damage during a three-alarm fire Monday afternoon.
The fire department responded to 9 Meacham Rd. around 2:30 p.m. The flames were already spreading to a home next door.
The fire drew a large emergency response as dark plumes of smoke billowed into the air — about 65 firefighters were on scene.
The Boston Globe reported there was more than $1 million in damage.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known. No injuries were reported.
There was also a two-alarm fire in the basement of an Adrian Street home in Somerville around the same time. That fire was quickly knocked down.
