Description
PEARL RIVER, NY — With pandemic practices and protocols in place, Pearl River students will return to in-person learning starting Monday.
It's not only the beginning of the fourth marking period, but also Spirit Week at Pearl River High School.
The district is well-positioned to bring students back into classrooms full time, Pearl River Superintendent Marco Pochintesta told parents in March.
Supportive factors for a full return:
The coronavirus vaccination initiative's focus on workers in an educational setting has resulted in most of staff receiving full vaccination or at least one doseChanges in Rockland County Department of Health's quarantine guidelines have reduced the number of days and the number of students and staff that would need to quarantine when a new case is identifiedLow COVID-19 transmission rate in schoolsLower community infection rateRecommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, New York Chapter
