PATCHOGUE, NY—Party bikes are a common sight in tourist towns like New Orleans. But now revelers can tour Patchogue Village on a party bike with friends thanks to brand new business Pedal Party Long Island. Zak Idrissi of Babylon opened Pedal Party this week. Pedal Party rentals start at Blue Point Brewery at 225 West Main St. Idrissi told Patch that the idea of offering a fun, unique experience attracted him to the idea. The pandemic led to an "increased demand for outdoor amusement and something unique and fun to do." Groups of people, whether it's a bachelorette party or just friends having an outing, can rent a party bike holding three to six people or coming soon, a "paddle pub" boat —a paddle boat that fits up to 26 people. The bike tours "cruise around Main St. Patchogue. Along the way we make stops at breweries, pubs, and eateries based on your preferences." Idrissi said Patchogue Village was an ideal home for the concept. "Patchogue's chamber of commerce, the residents and village were beyond hospitable and welcoming. We knew it was the best cultural fit." Idrissi says being able to distinguish between a good idea and an opportunity that one should seize on has guided his decision making. Pedal Party seemed like the perfect marriage of opportunity during the pandemic and a great idea, he said. And for those who hop on the pedal tours with their friends, "you'll have a memory to carry with you forever."
