NEW YORK CITY — Expect your next visit to the Bronx Zoo or American Museum of Natural History to be a bit more crowded. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that zoos and museums can expand their starting April 26. "You want to get outside, you want to take the family somewhere, museums and zoos will be at 50 percent," he said. Likewise, movie theaters that day can open to film goers at 33 percent capacity, Cuomo said. The capacity restrictions were established to slow the spread of coronavirus. Cuomo said the state can reopen more of its economy as COVID-19 rates fall. He also said indoor large arenas can raise capacity to 25 percent beginning May 19, right before the NBA playoffs.
