Press release from the Town of Dedham: April 16, 2021 (Statement read into the record at the April 15, 2021 Select Board Meeting) The Town of Dedham affirms that we stand firmly against racism, hate in any form or type toward any and all individuals or groups in any place, time, or way without qualification or exceptions. We support diversity and inclusivity as a town and are committed to making Dedham a welcoming and accepting place for all individuals no matter their race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or place of birth. We condemn all forms of judgmental or divisive language and action used against others, as well as bullying, slander, or harassment. We are committed to ensuring all individuals will experience fairness, justice, and equality of opportunity regardless of age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status. Specifically, we are committed to ensuring that skin color is not a factor in opportunity and pledge to bring light to and take action to correct inequalities in our nation. The Select Board commits to listening, understanding, and taking action against racism in our community. The Select Board commits to working with the Human Rights Commission, the Anti-Racism Coalition of Dedham, the Commission on Disability, the Dedham Organization for Substance Awareness, and other community organizations to continue to fight for justice for all Dedham residents.
