Description

Press release from the Town of Danvers: 2021-04-15 The Department of Public Works is holding the Annual Arbor Day tree planting at the Peabody Institute Library, 15 Sylvan Street, Danvers, MA, on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 10 A.M. in honor of Arbor Day.  The Forestry Division will plant two Green Mountain Sugar Maples near the entrance of the building.  Due to Covid-19, there will not be a celebration this year. National Arbor day is typically celebrated on the last Friday in April across the nation.  Trees can reduce the erosion of our precious topsoil by wind and water, cut hearing and cooling costs, moderate the temperature, clean the air, produce life-giving oxygen and provider a habitat for wildlife.  For more information on National Arbor day visit, https://www.arborday.org/ Further updates will be announced on the Town of Danvers, DPW website, Facebook and Twitter.  Inquiries can be directed to Brian Richard, DPW Forestry Division at [email protected] or 978-762-0237 This press release was produced by the Town of Danvers.
