RENTON, WA — A woman accused in a felony hit-and-run was arrested Wednesday following a lengthy standoff with law enforcement inside a stolen truck, according to the King County Sheriff's Office. In a social media post, investigators said a woman driving a stolen Ford F-150 hit a driver on 148th Avenue Southeast and sped away from the scene. Deputies soon learned the truck was reported stolen from a Kent driveway a short time before the crash. Investigators said the victim tailed the fleeing driver, helping deputies to locate the truck stuck in the mud on the side of the road. A King County SWAT team and crisis negotiators responded to the scene after deputies reported the woman inside was refusing to surrender. The standoff continued for nearly three hours before the 30-year-old woman was taken into custody without incident. According to the sheriff's office, she was booked into jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and possessing a stolen vehicle. #Update: TAC-30 + CNT successfully de-escalated this incident. A 30-year-old female is in custody for investigation of felony hit & run and possession of a stolen F150. This is the third barricaded subject, in just 24-hrs, resolved by TAC-30 + CNT w/o injuries to any persons. pic.twitter.com/brHYEEEoAf— King County Sheriff's Office PIO (@kingcosoPIO) April 14, 2021
