NORTH MASSAPEQUA, NY — Two eastbound lanes on the Southern State Parkway in between exit 30 at North Broadway in North Massapequa, along the Nassau and Suffolk counties border, will be closed starting on Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for pothole repairs, New York State Department of Transportation officials said. The DOT urged motorists to plan their trips accordingly, and to drive responsibly in work zones, warning that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone, according to a news release. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a suspended driver's license, officials said.
