Description

EAST HARLEM, NY — Police released new photos this week showing the person accused of stabbing a man in the stairwell of an East Harlem public housing building in February. The Feb. 27 stabbing happened just before 4:30 p.m. inside the Lincoln Houses, on Madison Avenue near East 135th Street. The victim, 30-year-old Eric McBride, was found lying unconscious in the 13th-floor stairwell with multiple stab wounds across his body. He was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital. Relatives told the Daily News that McBride was developmentally disabled, and asked why anyone would harm "someone who was so trusting." On Thursday, police shared images showing the alleged assailant, taken near the site of the stabbing. Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips online or on Twitter, @NYPDTips. All calls are confidentila.
