Description
Two weeks of tryouts in rain, wind, and temperatures in the 40's did not stop the Staples Girls Golf Team to get ready for its 7th season under Head Coach Patty Kondub and Assistants Liz Fry and Maureen Fontana.
"Seven is my lucky number, and I have a great feeling about this team and season!" says Coach Kondub.
"In my 14 years as a Staples Coach, this is definitely the toughest team when it comes to playing in inclement weather," Kondub added.
Last year Covid-19 shut down Spring sports. The Wreckers prevailed in 2020 with a virtual season which was featured in CT State Golf Association online at

but they are very appreciative to being back on the links this season... no matter the weather.
The Wreckers kick off the 2021 season with home matches back to back: Wednesday vs. Warde and Thursday vs. Darien. Stormy weather is in the forecast, but the team will be ready.
