Graduation Ceremony Dates Unveiled For HCPSS Seniors

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Families now can plan for their students' 2021 graduation from the Howard County Public School System. All ceremonies will take place at the Merriweather Post Pavilion with the exception of Cedar Lane School, which will be held at that school. At this point, each graduating senior's family will be given two tickets for lawn seating. The last day for seniors will be May 28. Those who cannot attend in person can watch the graduations live online and rebroadcast on the HCPSS cable channel (Comcast 95, Verizon 42). According to the school district, HCPSS will monitor local health metrics during the weeks prior to the commencement date window and if it is deemed necessary to hold events virtually, an announcement will be issued at that time, officials noted. All in-person attendees are expected to wear masks at graduation. The numbers of in-person speakers and performers will be kept to a minimum, while others will participate virtually, the district announced.
