MIDDLETOWN, CT — One person was rescued from a capsized canoe in the Connecticut River in Middletown on Monday afternoon, according to fire officials. Crews responded to a report of a person holding onto the side of a capsized canoe. The incident happened in the area of Meadow Meats (17 Eastern Dr.), according to fire officials. "Middletown Marine 1 has made contact with the party and has loaded them onto Marine 1," officials wrote on the City of Middletown Professional Firefighters Local 1073 Union's Facebook page.
