Park Heights Renaissance Calls for Volunteers for Clean Up

On Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Park Heights Renaissance (PHR), in tandem with Mayor Brandon Scott's Spring "Clean Where You Live" Cleanup, will host an event to beautify the Park Heights community. Volunteers – neighbors, friends and family – are invited to spring into action and help clean up Park Heights and its encompassing neighborhoods. The Community Cleanup Day will kick off at the organization's headquarters (3939 Reisterstown Road) in Baltimore at 9 a.m. with an energizing opening from Yolanda Jiggetts, PHR's executive director, as well as light refreshments to set the stage for a day of collaboration and teamwork. Following the kickoff, Park Heights Renaissance's "Clean & Green Team," as well as community volunteers will converge on various cleanup projects throughout Park Heights, where trash will be collected, unofficial dumping sites will be cleared and more. Additionally, PHR has partnered with LJW Waste, Inc., a local minority-owned waste management company, to provide four convenient locations throughout Park Heights for neighbors to dispose of their unwanted trash and debris. Belvedere Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215 "Keeping Park Heights clean is a top priority, and we are excited to bring the community together to clean up the trash-filled lots we continue to see every day despite many organizations working to clean up these sites consistently," says Jiggetts. "Moving forward, a community strategy must be developed to address the ongoing problem of illegal dumping to help our community reach the bold new heights we all envision." While many resources have been gathered to help ensure a successful cleanup, Park Heights Renaissance is seeking volunteers to participate. CDC safety guidelines will be adhered in order to ensure the health and safety of all participants, including social distancing and mask-wearing by all staff, volunteers and other partners.
