Join us for a very special tasting of wines from Australia's Powell & Son Wines with North American Sales Manager, Kimberly Wodyard! Wine events are back here at Vom Fass! Not only are we pulling the cork on a lot of incredible bottles but we're welcoming some very special guests as well. On Wednesday, June 2nd we are very pleased to announce that Kimberly Woodyard, North American Sales Manager of Powell and Son wines, will be here to not just to pour five different wines for event goers to enjoy but will tell you all about them as well! In order to maintain the required guidelines necessary to hosting events, we are keeping this event small and personal. Seating is limited to just 15 people which allow for required social distancing. Yet, this may actually be to the advantage of eventgoers as a small audience will allow for a more personal tasting experience. Attendees will enjoy several wines from the Powell and Son vineyard which employs traditional, minimalist winemaking techniques to produce a wine that speaks of the place that it was grown. Their inspiration for winemaking has its roots in France’s Rhone Valley, Powell & Son red wines are made from the classic Rhone varietals: Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro and its whites: Roussanne, Marsanne as well as Riesling. The Powell philosophy is that a great wine is made in the vineyard and so Callum and Dave Powell work the vineyards they use on their own in the Winter and Spring seasons, then in Autumn pick the fruit and vinify using old concrete ferment vats and basket pressing – producing unique and expressive wines from their most prized vineyards throughout the Barossa. During this event, masks must be warn at all times when guests are not seated at their designated table. Guests are allowed to remove their masks when enjoying the wines and food, but only during those times.
