JBG Organic is seeking a dedicated and hard­ working team member to help sell our produce at the River Road Farm Stand on Saturday Mornings 7am-2pm. The main task of the market staff is to setup, sell, and breakdown our farmers' market booth at the River Road Farm Stand. Job duties include unloading produce, running cash register, providing customer service, restocking vegetables, and making sure the market booth is constantly looking the best is can. JBG offers the opportunity for community members to be provided with the best quality, locally grown, organic vegetables possible. In just 10 years, the farm went from a 30x50ft garden in an urban backyard in East Austin to a now 205 ­acre organic vegetable farm based on a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model. Our CSA has now grown to more than 1,700 members in four major metropolises and we provide fresh, year-­round, organic produce to CSA members, multiple farmers markets, local restaurants and grocery retailers, including major chains like Whole Foods and HEB/Central Market. Responsibilities ● Report to Market location in a punctual manner ● Help unload market trucks including product, tents, weights, and tables ● Sell JBG organic produce at local markets according to current market prices ● Act as a JBG ambassador, welcoming community members to learn about the farm, our produce, and upcoming farm events ● Follow all JBG safety regulations ● Unload all market materials and maintain a clean vehicle ● Must follow all money ­handling procedures as outlined by JBG Qualifications ● Eagerness and willingness to learn about JBG's farming practices and product and relay to market customers ● Great customer service is a must, and a positive, detail­-oriented, and motivated attitude is key. ● Interest in local agriculture and knowledge of vegetables and cooking is a plus ● Previous retail and management experience a big plus ● Must have reliable transportation to designated market ● Must have a working cell phone and must be responsive to occasional texts and calls ● Ability to act as a respectful and cheerful ambassador of JBG ● Quick mental math skills a plus ● Strong sense of visual composition for market displays ● Valid Texas Driver's License required Physical Requirements ● Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly ● Ability to work in varying weather conditions Compensation and Benefits ● $12/hour + tips and weekly share of organic vegetables
