Colorado public health officials gave local governments a lot more control over their restrictions beginning Friday, and more than two dozen counties chose to end the Dial 3.0 framework. "We want local governments to be able to move nimbly, creating local protocols where necessary to protect their communities, and we will support them when they do," said Jill Hunsaker Ryan, executive director of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, in a statement. More than half of public health agencies across the state will have a public health order in place beginning Friday, officials said. Counties that indicated that they would maintain Level Yellow: Pueblo Counties that indicated that they would maintain Level Blue: Broomfield (modified) Gunnison (modified) Denver Jefferson Larimer Arapahoe Boulder Adams Archuletta La Plata Counties that indicated that they would maintain Level Green: Bent Cheyenne Costilla Gilpin Kit Carson San Juan Counties that indicated that they would not have local orders: Alamosa Baca Custer Crowley Delores Douglas El Paso Elbert Fremont Huerfano Kiowa Lincoln Logan Los Animas Mesa Montezuma Montrose Morgan Otero PhillipsProwers Rio Grande Sedgwick Teller WashingtonWeld Yuma Counties that indicated they would have a modified dial or a local order in addition to the state's order: Chaffee Clear Creek Conejos Delta Eagle Lake Ouray Pitkin Routt San Miguel Summit Counties that have not yet announced their plans include Garfield, Grand, Hinsdale, Jackson, Mineral, Moffat, Park, Rio Blanco and Saguache. Between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon, 953 new cases were reported in our state. More than half of the latest cases are variants, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
