Tuition Freeze Stays: Hudson County Community College

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Hudson County Community College is freezing tuition due to the pandemic for the second year in a row. HCCC trustees unanimously voted to freeze tuition and fees at the latest meeting. The freeze will last throughout the 2021-22 academic year and include this year's summer II and fall semester classes, as well as the 2022 winter, spring, and summer I sessions. The tuition rate for in-county residents will stay at $149 per credit, the out-of-county rate at $298 per credit, and the out-of-state and international rate at $440 per credit. The $25 per term registration fee, $6.50 per credit student life fee, $25 per credit general service fee, and $18 per credit technology fee will also stay the same. "The COVID-19 pandemic has been physically, emotionally, and financially devastating for our students and our community," said HCCC President Chris Reber. "This is the right thing to do in spite of the financial constraints of the pandemic on our College and all higher education institutions." The college will continue to offer COVID-19 related support through federal stimulus and other funding. To date, the college has disbursed $5,681,556 to 4,620 students, or an average of $1,230 awarded to each student.
