FALLSINGTON, PA — The Pennsbury Education Foundation has awarded 11 grants totaling $15,000 to educators in the school district. The nonprofit foundation, which relies on donations, supports innovative teaching efforts in the district through grants that are awarded twice a year. Foundation President Annette Young announced the following grants for spring 2021: Oxford Valley Elementary School Principal Donna Minnigh and librarian Jennifer Dillon — $500 to expand the school library collection to include books that represent diverse cultures and perspectivesPennsbury High School East Principal Reggie Meadows and teacher Grant Palmer — $813.68 to buy a mobile recording unit for the music departmentMakefield Elementary School Principal Donna McCormick-Miller and teacher James Parsons — $673.97 to buy technology for use in physical education classesEdgewood Elementary School Principal Stephanie Hultquist and teacher Lynn Holmes —$1,482.40 to buy 80 Code & Go programmable robot micePennwood Middle School Principal Derek Majikas and teachers Monica James, Elizabeth Schrader and Colleen Brodbeck — $500 to support a pop-up exhibit presented by the African American Museum of Bucks CountyCharles Boehm Middle School Principal Travis Bloom and teacher Lisamarie Belmonte — $1,500 to buy pickleball sets for physical education classesQuarry Hill Elementary School Principal Richard Rebh and librarian Barbara Pesature — $500 to fund the use of the MackinVia digital content management systemQuarry Hill Elementary School Principal Richard Rebh and teacher Katie Veneziale — $270.90 to buy "L3 Skills: Lifelong Learning for Life Skills" educational games and activitiesAfton Elementary School Acting Principal Jeanmarie McGinley and teacher Kristin Slota —$2,919.90 to buy digital microscopes for use by students in SPARK classesPenn Valley Elementary School Principal Barbara Hidalgo and school counselor Arlene Johnson — $3,800 for the purchase of two concrete picnic tables for outdoor classroom useManor Elementary School Principal Terri Salvucci and teacher Patricia Kropp — $1,782 was approved to purchase Breakout EDU kits for collaborative student learningThe Pennsbury Education Foundation participates in Pennsylvania's Department of Community and Economic Development's Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program, which gives tax credits to businesses that contribute to the foundation.
