Press release from the City of Santee:
April 04, 2021
The City of Santee Department of Development Services is updating the Safety Element of the General Plan which is intended to reduce loss of life, injuries, and damage to property resulting from natural and human caused public safety hazards including flooding, geologic and seismic hazards, fire, traffic hazards and crime. In addition, the Safety Element will comply with new legislation requiring the general plan to address climate change adaptation and environmental justice policies for disadvantaged communities. Public engagement is a critical component in the development of the City's first Environmental Justice strategies, policies, and programs. To help us determine how and where to prioritize environmental justice strategies, policies and programs to promote a more equitable community, please participate in the Environmental Justice Survey to ensure the Environmental Justice Element reflects local conditions and community priorities, the City will host two virtual community meetings to discuss findings and solicit feedback on goals and policies that advance environmental justice.
Information on an upcoming community survey and upcoming virtual meetings will be posted on the City's website. For email notification please email [email protected]. Click here to view the current Safety Element. Return to full list >>
