MILL VALLEY, CA — Tamalpais pitching standout Tucker Bougie was named the Cal-Hi Sports' Northern California Baseball Player of the Week.
The UC Berkeley-bound right-hander on Tuesday struck out nine and gave up one run (unearned) in five innings of two-hit ball to lead the Red Tailed Hawks to an 11-1 Marin County Athletic League victory over San Marin.
Bougie has been a big factor in the Tamalpais' 6-0 start (all league games).
He has yet to allow an earned run in 17 2/3 innings in which he's struck out 28 and walked eight and given just eight hits.
Bougie, who also plays third base and shortstop, has been impactful with his bat, too.
He's batting .600 (9 for 15) with three extra-base hits including two home runs. He's slugging 1.066 and has a stratospheric 1.817 OPS.
Congrats Tucker Bougie (Tamalpais, Mill Valley). NorCal Baseball Player of Week. Didn't play last week, but already one great outing this week.
