CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Three Chester County communities have been ranked as one of the safest towns in Pennsylvania based on a review of crime statistics.
SafeWise, a security product review platform, recently ranked the 10 safest cities in the Keystone State based on recent crime statistics and data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.Lower Salford Township made the list. The township, with a population of 15,534, came in eighth.
East Brandywine Township made the list. The township, with a population of 9,123, came in seventh. West Vincent Township came in as the 11th safest place and Westtown-East Goshen townships together ranked 39th among the communities named.
The organization ranked 50 Pennsylvania cities in 2021 using recent crime statistics and data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
According to SafeWise, 136 Pennsylvania communities met the criteria to be considered for the ranking. Seven of the cities on the list reported no violent crimes and 25 reported fewer than five total violent crimes.The rankings are intended to highlight cities with low crime rates and to inspire municipalities to talk about how they can make cities safer, according to the SafeWise website.
