JOLIET, IL — If you were hoping to get together this summer on the weekends at St. Joe's Park to meet up with long-time friends for beer, polka music and ethnic food, that's not going to happen.
For the second straight year, St. Joseph's Church on North Chicago Street announced that it has chosen to cancel its summer festival season at St. Joe's Park, which is off Theodore Street.
Wednesday's announcement came from church pastor Father Tim Andres.
According to the Joliet priest's letter, "The fact that this is the second year in a row without summer picnics makes it even more disappointing."
