ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a grabbing, a sexual assault, a neighbor dispute, damage to a building, harassment and porch piracy. Here is information from the latest police reports: Disorderly conduct A woman told police that she was inappropriately grabbed about 10 a.m. Saturday at or near FFC Elmhurst fitness center, 140 N. Addison Ave. The case is under "active" investigation. Sexual assault A person reported she was sexually assaulted by a suspect about 12:30 a.m. Sunday near East End Pool, 463 E. Schiller St. The case is pending an investigation. Neighbor dispute A resident in the 600 block of North Kenilworth Avenue reported that a neighbor was driving on the wrong side of the road Monday. The case, labeled a neighbor dispute, is pending an investigation. Leaving scene of accident Jose Gomez-Gaitan, 18, of Elmhurst, was cited about 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of North Virginia on charges of no valid driver's license, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, no valid registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to report an accident to police. He was released on bond. According to a police report, Gomez-Gaitan ran away after getting into an accident. Trip and fall A woman was walking on the sidewalk in front of her house about 1:30 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of South Hillcrest Avenue when she tripped and fell. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. Damage to building Someone used black paint to deface one of the main doors and two brick walls on a building overnight Monday in the 800 block of South Berkley Avenue. Harassment A resident in the 400 block of East Vallette Street told police Monday that a person had been trying to contact her by text message to meet in person. She said she refused and has since blocked the person's phone number. The officer met with the person, who agreed to cease further communications with the resident. Porch piracy A camera security system that was delivered by Amazon on Wednesday to a house in the 500 block of North Kenilworth Avenue was stolen. Storage unit theft Someone forcibly entered into a storage unit and stole electronics, collectibles, jewelry and clothing between March 8 and April 6 at 297 W. Lake St. Driving violations Miguel A. Pineda, 20, of Chicago, was cited about 11 a.m. Monday at North and Interstate 290 on charges of driving with a suspended license, speeding and possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released on bond.Jose Robles, 20, of Chicago, was cited about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Larch and North on charges of no valid driver's license and speeding. He was released on bond. Carlos Gomez-Lopez, 33, of Bensenville, was cited about 9 p.m. Wednesday at York and Diversey on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt.
