Description
LOS ANGELES, CA — A brush fire in Lincoln Heights triggered evacuations and spread to least two structures Tuesday afternoon and burned five acres.
The blaze broke out in the 2800 block of North Sierra Street about 1:25 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Firefighters called in a helicopter to help douse the flames.
Ten homes in the neighborhood had to be evacuated as the blaze spread, according to the LAFD reported. Crews stopped all forward progress of the blaze and called off evacuations by 2:36 p.m.
There was no immediate word on what sparked the fire.
