Press release from the Fresno Unified School District: 2021-04-15 What:    High school students install yarn bombing creations to beautify downtown Where:  H and Fresno streets                When:   Sunday, April 18, 2021               Installation begins at 9:30 a.m. at H and Fresno streets, with other locations to follow               Reception for students, families and community at 5:30 p.m. at H and Fresno Students, teachers and volunteers will install student-created street art made of yarn at several downtown outdoor locations. For the yarn bombing project, Youth Art Reaching Neighbors, about 300 art students from Bullard, Roosevelt and Sunnyside high schools began knitting and crocheting pieces in December. The now completed pieces will be connected and applied around tree trunks, light poles, railing and outdoor sculptures. Any remaining handmade hats, scarves, and blankets will be cleaned and donated to the Poverello House for those in need after the three-week outdoor exhibit. Teachers and staff worked with the city of Fresno's Beautify Fresno team on the project. Those attending are asked to wear masks and practice physical distancing.
