Press release from Cincinnati Public Schools: April 15, 2021 The University of Cincinnati, with sponsorship from Schaefer and Messer Construction, is hosting the CPS Strong Summer Physics Program June 7–July 16, 2021. The deadline to sign up is Friday, April 30, 2021. The program is open to a select number of CPS' students. Due to the small number of students this opportunity can accommodate, it is directed High Schools that are not able to offer Physics during the school year only. Students can earn a high school credit flex 1.0 credit. The University of Cincinnati will call students who sign up for an interview, during which they will assess the commitment level, and discuss the course in further detail. The goal during the interview is for the student and family to have all the information about the course, timing and materials. Course information: (Subject to change) 9 a.m.–Noon, Monday–Friday June 7–July 16, 2021 All lessons will be taught online/fully virtual in a project-based learning format, where students engage in hands on activities related to real world Physics. Students must have successfully completed Algebra I and Biology to qualify. IECE Physics Course Registration One of the goals of the University of Cincinnati is to increase the number of women and under-represented minorities in the college of engineering.
