CHARLOTTE, NC — If you play the lottery in the Charlotte metro region, you might want to check your numbers. In recent days, two people purchased winning tickets for Monday's Cash 5 drawing in Charlotte and are now eligible to split the $2.1 million jackpot, North Carolina Education Lottery said Tuesday afternoon.
The winners, who will each receive $1.05 million, have 180 days to claim their prize, lottery officials said.
The winning tickets were purchased at two Charlotte Circle K convenience stores, located at 7010 University City Boulevard and 15620 John J. Delaney Drive.
The winning tickets both matched the numbers on all five balls: 3-5-34-40-41.
The Cash 5 jackpot marked the first time a Cash 5 jackpot estimate reached over $2 million in the game's history, according to NCEL.
