UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man hurled anti-Asian slurs at a woman aboard the subway on the Upper East Side on Thursday, police said, continuing a pattern of similar incidents around the city. Around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, the victim, a 34-year-old woman, was sitting on a Q train stopped at the 96th Street station when the suspect "aggressively pointed his finger" in her face, police said. He made several anti-Asian statements, including the word "Chinese" and a common racist slur, police said. The woman snapped a picture of the man pointing at her, which was released by authorities. The man got off the train and the woman was not injured. The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident. (NYPD) Police asked for help identifying the man, and released additional photos of him leaving a subway station.
