Tuscaloosa Police Investigating Friday Shooting At Hay Court

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Investigators continue to search for an attempted murder suspect after a man was shot at Hay Court on 21st Street Friday afternoon. The Tuscaloosa Police Department said its officers, along with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, responded after 911 received calls of hearing gunshots at the apartment complex at 4:50 p.m. The victim, a 25-year-old man, was found behind one of the buildings in the complex before being transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment. On Friday, TPD said his injuries were possibly life-threatening. TPD also pointed out that investigators are looking into reports of shots fired into two nearby apartments and a vehicle on Wednesday. One of the apartments was occupied at the time and witnesses told police they heard between 20 to 30 gunshots on that day. Investigators have yet to make an arrest in that case, but are working to determine if the shooting on Friday is somehow connected.
