Alabama Lags Behind In COVID-19 Vaccination Rates

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Although more than half of adults throughout the country have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, Alabama's vaccination numbers are considerably lower. A report from the Alabama Department of Public Health shows just 37 percent of Alabama adults have received a shot, with none of Alabama's counties even at 50 percent. As of Tuesday, 2.2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine had been administered in Alabama, with 1.4 million people receiving at least one dose and 917,988 people fully vaccinated.
