JOB DESCRIPTION: Iowa Moving 1 is looking for 2 positions. A moving labor crew leader and also looking for a moving helper. You will be loading and unloading trucks, trailers and portable storage containers for mostly residential customers, but we do some smaller office moves as well. For the crew leader only position, you will also be in charge of managing the job at the job site by providing direction to your helper, doing paperwork, answering questions from the customer and providing exceptional customer service with a positive attitude. REQUIREMENTS: - Prior professional moving company or furniture delivery experience is strongly preferred (minimum of 6 months, but prefer 2 plus years). - Experienced with loading moving trucks with household furniture - Valid personal driver's license and a good driving record so you can be added on to our insurance. A company cargo van will be provided for you to drive to job sites. - A background check (no felonies in the past 5 years) and drug screen is required. - Must have cell phone and be available to respond to calls and text messages quickly as schedules can change rapidly. - Available to work moves that are scheduled on Monday - Saturday. Moving hours vary but typically occur somewhere between the hours of 7:45 am and 5-6 pm, however some flexibility is required based on customer demand and busier times for the company. - Must be hard-working, motivated, dependable and consistently show up to work on time. -Strength and endurance are very important as it's a physically demanding job. Must have ability to lift 75-125 lbs consistently. You will move furniture, exercise equipment, appliances and boxes so the job requires that you must be very strong and physically fit. - For Crew Leaders only: Ability to fill out customer paperwork on the job site and do simple mathematical calculations to figure amounts owed by customer. -Good communication skills with customers and other workers. Must be a people person who has a positive attitude and enjoys helping people. COMPENSATION: - Hourly wage with eligibility for raises based on dependability, quality of work and positive attitude - Tips from customers for excellent service Advancement will be based on customer reviews/fit with the company and company needs.
