Looking for a bass player to start a band comprised of all trans girls. I'm Monica, I play guitar, sing harmony and sing some limited lead. I currently have another girl interested who plays Keys/synth, sings harmony, some limited lead, as well as some rhythm guitar. At the present time we both play in working bands and gig regularly. The target area will be Portland to N. Mass and the material will be 80s dance music with heavy emphasis on synth driven arrangnents....Madonna, Duran Duran, Cyndi Lauper, Paula Abdul, MJ...etc First and foremost you would need to be a musician...this project is about the music first...which means, competence on the bass in any form of music from disco to Contemporary(Pink, Lady G, Megan Traynor...etc), pro gear, transportation, and a serious commitment to the group. Vocals and/or the ability to harmonize would be a huge plus and will get you the gig over a better bass player who doesn't sing. You must be willing to go on stage in FULL drag...no exceptions. This means skirts, dresses, wigs, makeup, jewelry, heels...everything, every show. I've noticed that there is an over abundance of trans girls who are musicians too, and this is a chance to be out & about, loud & proud and show the world what we've got.
