Part-time Barista & Cleaning support Needed at coffee shop in East Hollywood Mestizo is looking for part-time (approximately 10-20 hours per week) experienced Cooks/Baristas. The Job Also requires some oven-cooking & experience with blended drink. Organization, Cleanliness and Punctuality it's a Must. We are looking for part-time baristas/cook with 1+ years of coffee/kitchen experience. You must be able to pull a great shot and be comfortable with a steam wand and a pitcher of milk (or milk alternative). Candidates will also be required to spend some time on the register and support other baristas if needed. Must be knowledgeable in coffee, tea, and drink preparation. Latte art is a plus but personality is just as important. We also have a food program which is super simple to execute. Must be able to lift boxes and cases of milk and relatively light furniture when we close. We are fairly low key and want to make coffee accessible, and for our café to serve as a community spot. SCHEDULE: - Part-time with transition to full-time RATE OF PAY & PERKS: - HOURLY Wage includes tips you can expect from $15-$18 per hour. REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Applicants must have or be willing to procure CA Food Handler's License - Ability to take and prepare drink orders including coffee, tea, and espresso based beverages (latte art is a plus!) - Ensuring appropriate health and safety standards while maintaining a clean and sanitary work station - Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs - Availability to work all scheduled shifts. This includes weekends - Outgoing personality, ability to communicate clearly and often, willingness to engage customers - Consistently understands, reads, and executes recipe requirements correctly - Ensures appropriate health and safety standards, i.e. SERV Safe practices - Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of products at stations to ensure smooth service - Maintains a neat and sanitary work station - Handles, stores, and rotates all products in accordance with health department regulation - Opens and/or closes the location properly and follows the closing checklist - Ability to learn and apply new knowledge or skills for your work -Work cooperatively with co-workers and management - Ability to work and think independently and make quality decisions in the absence of a supervisor - Able to maintain a professional attitude and provide quality customer service under pressure *Must be authorized to work in the US *Must be 18 years of age or older
