Private home with 2 dogs, no children, 4 adults (3 working, 1 too elderly to do much housework and needs some assistance herself), needs a housekeeper/household manager/personal assistant/transportation assistant. This is a contract for 10-20 hours a week, semi-flexible hours. If you are a person who can see yourself enjoying a disorganized household with large friendly dogs that shed, an elderly woman with left-leaning policies who will ask you the same question over and over and over, and a primary employer who runs a business and works 16 hours a day, this may be the job for you! You would: -Tidy the house regularly, including having the joy of dealing with aforementioned dog hair -Clean everything in the house thoroughly once a week -Ensure that we have the right cleaning supplies on hand -Take out garbage and recycling, and keep it organized making it easy for us to just take the bins to the curb on Sunday nights -Occasionally run errands (we have most things delivered) -Make appointments with skilled tradespeople as needed (e.g., if we need a plumber) and meet and interact with the person when they arrive -Transport and accompany elderly woman to doctors appointments (around 2 a month) -Transport elderly woman as needed to social activities (probably less than once a week) -Over time, get various things organized, organize and drop off donations, generally take care of miscellaneous household tasks. OPTIONAL duties, depending on time available and your inclination: take very nice but memory-impaired elderly woman on an occasional short outing, help her with a jigsaw puzzle, get things like birthday cards out on time. Qualifications: Must enjoy and have demonstrated experience with the tasks listed above (household management and housekeeping). Must be physically in good shape - have energy and ability to do physical labor Must have a strong work ethic and take pride in getting things done well Must be able to work independently almost all the time Must have excellent judgment and interpersonal skills. It is essential that you like dogs, have a sense of humor, patience with those of us who are organizationally challenged and have our heads in the clouds, and a generally cheerful and positive outlook. Someone who sees the best in others, is comfortable stating any concerns or needs, is kind, has a good sense of humor and is non-judgmental and positive will do well with us Someone who is judgmental, critical, or extremely emotionally needy will not last long - if that is you, we wish you healing but please do NOT apply. Since you will have the run of the household, you must have clear skills and experience in the tasks listed above, we will need strong references (not family and friends) and will interview carefully. The hiring process will include at least one remote interview, contacting references, and a background check for any major criminal issues. We are fully vaccinated but if you are not, masks will be required. Once we hire you we will do whatever we can to make the job a positive experience for you. We are offering a contract of several months but its likely to be renewed for the right person. Semi-flexible, we can work around your schedule- to a point. The hourly contract rate is between $15-$25 an hour depending on years and type of experience. You will accumulate 1 hour of Paid Time Off (vacation or sick time) per each 15 hours of work.
