I think it is the height of cruelty and absolute irresponsibility that this family would put their cat up for adoption because they have decided they want a dog and their cat wouldn't like that. The CAT was there first! Animals have feelings and emotions and bonds for the people they love. How do you just give up a furry family member because you have decided you want a different furry family member?? When you adopt a pet, it is for their lifetime, not for when you get tired of that pet or decide you want a different one. If you don't see pets as family, please don't adopt in the first place. My heart goes out to this sweet cat who has done nothing wrong other than to be adopted by a family who has decided she is expendable. Sorry, but people like this don't deserve the privilege of having a pet in the first place.
