ISO young adult cat for disabled veteran

I am looking for a cat to be my emotional support animal; my last cat (rest her soul) crossed the rainbow bridge a few weeks ago and it's me and only me now at my home. Animals who stay with me are always loved and spoiled rotten as I find it difficult to interact with humans but have always been a natural pet owner. I'm 47, single and live full-time in my somewhat spacious motor home which I rarely take anywhere. Cats especially hate to go for rides so I limit the trips I make....usually none. The animal shelters won't deal with me because to their line of thinking I'm technically homeless, though I am not. I'm sort of stuck at an impasse could you please help?
