Responsibilities of the Carpenter Read blueprint and drawings to grasp building requirements Take exact measurements and calculations to determine material needed Cut, shape, and smooth lumber including other material according to specs Build various construction structures in a commercial setting Inspect and conduct maintenance or repairs Requirements of the Carpenter 2+ years’ experience as a Carpenter Hands on experience with carpentry material in a commercial setting Experienced in the use of electrical and manual hand tools – saws, hammers, rulers, etc. Skilled in reading blueprints and drawings Great English skills Basic math understanding ===================================================================== esponsibilities of the Plumber Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems by performing the following duties: Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations. Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe. Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors. Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as cast iron, steel, brass, and copper, and nonmetals, such as PVC, ABS, and acid waste. Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints. Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking. Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, and dishwashers. Requirements of the Plumber Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in commercial plumbing Experience with installation of various kinds of pipes – PVC, brass, Metal, etc. Great attitude Flexibility to work weekends if needed. ================================================================================== General Labor Responsibilities Assist in all non-technical work such as; cleaning, gathering material, lifting or holding material for the tradesmen, pre-production fabrications, and acting as a helper so all skilled tradesmen can continue their skilled work undeterred. Basic carpentry/construction work such as insulating, sheet rocking, cleaning and wrapping material and buildings for shipment. Learn from tradesmen while working as helper and assistant. General Labor Requirements High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus Must be 18 years of age Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds Positive attitude and work ethic Able to work independently or as an active member of a team Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management English and Spanish fluency a plus
