Description
Have you always been looking to be part of a team and find a home that values your ideas, your hard work, your honesty - and where pride in a job well done is RECOGNIZED and REWARDED? Who are we? We are a family owned and operated company, who believes that great people make up great teams, and great teams can accomplish amazing things. I'm JJ Murray, and my family & team have had the great joy of being part of countless events and celebrations in this beautiful part of Virginia for 30+ years. We work hard together as a team, and we believe that respect, honesty, and your word still go a long way in this world. We believe that giving the right people the TOOLS, the TRAINING, and the TRUST will help you to SHINE. We know that by helping others succeed, we help ourselves, so if going the extra mile with a smile for your team is who you are, then keep reading. What do we do? We are in the business of delivering dream events for our wedding, festival, and corporate customers. From large festivals and outdoor concerts, to beautiful tent weddings with dance floors, tables, chairs, lighting, and decor, it's our great honor to create amazing and memorable celebrations. What is this position responsible for? Our Onsite Teams are responsible for bringing the magic together, from loading, transporting, setting the stage, and delivering the "WOW!" that makes customers choose OUR company above all others. What Values, Abilities, and Skills do I need to apply? We know that the most important thing is finding the right FIT – between what you are seeking from US and what we need from YOU. Skills are the things you already know, or learn in time, like setting up a tent, or loading a truck with tables and chairs correctly. Abilities are the things that “just come naturally to you”, like attention to detail, teaching others things you know, or being great working with our hands. Values are the things that you wake up with each day, that mean something above all else, and that tell you what you want out of life. Values: • Pride - In your work, your appearance, and going above and beyond for each other, and our great customers. • Timeliness – Success is what we accomplish with the time we are given, so we know the way to get ahead in life, is to have a good schedule, and stick to it. • Respect – We are all created as equals, and we give and receive respect at all times. • Honesty – We believe in the value of your word, and we stand by our commitments without question, especially when things get rough – that’s when we can all shine the brightest. • Dedication & Hard Work – What you do each day is important to you, and to us, and to your teammates. We recognize and reward those who go above and beyond. • Working Outside – Many of the venues and locations you will be delivering to, are among some of the most beautiful outdoor and natural spaces in South East Virginia. This is a far cry from an office desk job. Abilities: • To be SAFE and AWARE of your surroundings, and to make sure others are as well. • To have the STRENGTH to speak up and say something, if you notice anything is wrong, or if you think something can be done better. • Enjoy and want to LEARN and GROW as a PROFESSIONAL in this Industry. • To pay ATTENTION to the details, to see when the count of items may be off, or if something is damaged, and inform others. • To COMMUNICATE and COOPERATE well with those around you, like your Team Leaders, Team Members, the Customers, and all others you meet along the way. • To have PATIENCE when issues do occur, and to work TOGETHER to find the best way forward for everyone. • To TEACH others how things operate, and instruct the customers on proper use of items which you’ve been trained on. • To LEAD others, and to have RESPONSIBILITY for getting a job not just done, but for it to be a victory for everyone. Skills: • To be able to DRIVE a box/moving truck, in a safe and professional manner at all times – or be willing and prepared to learn. • To be able to SAFELY work on a short ladder – up to 12’ off the ground, and to assist other team members when they are using one. • To be able to MOVE - pickup and put down up to 70 lbs, repeatedly – with care and attention, so as not to injure yourself or damage inventory. • To speak, read, and write English FLUENTLY – comfort and skill with other languages is wonderful. What if I’ve never worked in this Industry before? Whether you've worked in the Event Rentals Industry before, or you're looking for a change and a new challenge, we have a system for success and a lot of opportunity to advance. We have been building something great for three decades, and we want to build even more with you on our team - a bright future together! - JJ & the Team - Hampton Roads Event Rentals
